The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a road project that is expected to boost agriculture and tourism in Pangasinan.
DPWH Region 1 Director Ronnel M. Tan said the 916-meter road project in Barangay Bolaoen in San Fabian town will provide a quick and safe route from the farmlands to the market centers, “enhancing support for agribusiness.’’
“With the new road, travel time from Barangay Bolaoen to the town proper of San Fabian, Pangasinan is reduced from one hour to just 30 minutes, helping farmers and residents deliver their local produce with reduced transport costs,” Tan said.
DPWH Pangasinan Second District Engineer Edita L. Manuel said the FMR also promotes local tourism as it provides better access for tourists visiting San Fabian Beach.
The project was funded by the Department of Agriculture (DA) under the DA-DPWH Convergence Program. (Chito A. Chavez)
